● Biocompatible (free of Al, V, Ni, Cr, etc.), high specific strength, low modulus (to reduce stress-shielding effect often observed in rigid metallic and ceramic implants). Strength, modulus and elongation are adjustable, depending on application.
● The UTS/modulus ratio (a performance index for metallic implant) of a low modulus JTi formula for orthopedic implant is >200% of Ti-6Al-4V ELI, >300% of grade-4 cp Ti, and >500% of grade-2 cp Ti. ● Easy to hot work into plates and rods. ● 26W rabbit condyle implantation study indicates that the new bone attached to JTi implant is higher by >10 times than that attached to conventional Ti-6Al-4V ELI implant. |
